Claims Adjuster, Major Losses – Property
Job Description:
- Listen to the client, clearly explain the steps the claim will take, answer their questions, and deliver a streamlined service that exceeds expectations.
- Analyze the client's insurance coverages and clearly explain which protections apply to the submitted claim.
- Gather statements of events regarding the incident from insureds, third parties and other stakeholders to determine the circumstances, causes and admissibility of claims.
- Assess potential liability of the insured and third parties, supporting conclusions with relevant investigative evidence.
- Anticipate subrogation and recoveries, and direct the investigation accordingly.
- Actively collaborate with related claims and underwriting teams, as well as external specialists.
- Communicate effectively with the client to inform them of progress.
- Accurately annotate and document the file in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
- Ensure prudent management of fees and external costs.
- Participate actively in catastrophe response and call overflow, when required.
Requirements:
- PAA diploma (an asset)
- Certified claims adjuster
- 5 years' experience in commercial claims adjusting in the field (on the road)
- Comfortable working in a computerized/digital environment
- Bilingual (French and English)
