Job Summary

We’re a new neighbourhood café in the North York area looking for friendly, reliable team members to help create a welcoming environment and deliver great food and service.

About the Role As a Café Team Member, you will prepare fresh sandwiches and light menu items, serve customers with warmth and efficiency, and help maintain a clean, organized café space. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with food, interacting with customers, and contributing to smooth daily operations.

Duties

  • Prepare sandwiches and café menu items with consistency and attention to quality
  • Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly services throughout their visit
  • Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, equipment, and customer-facing spaces
  • Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards
  • Support team members during busy periods
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without sacrificing quality
Requirements
  • Previous experience in food service or barista roles is highly preferred
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and processing transactions accurately
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
  • Experience with serving, food preparation, or the food industry is advantageous
  • Good time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
