Bookkeeper / Office Administrator

This is an opportunity at a prominent 50 plus year real estate conglomerate’s lending arm.

The perfect candidate will be detailed, multi-tasker, ability to work independently, have an understanding of Accounting, pleasant in person and on the phone, possess a can-do attitude, and have the desire to grow with the company.

Primary Duties include, but are not limited to:

Bookkeeping/Office Administrator

-Maintain the books for the lending companies and provide reports for parent company personnel

- Monthly bank reconciliation (multiple accounts)

- Prepare W-2’s, 1099 and interest statements (annually)

- Monthly invoicing

- Bank deposits (desktop scanner/deposit system)

- Accounts payable/receivable

- Communicate with colleague on rent collection / defaults for foreclosed properties

- Assist in maintaining monthly rent roll

- General office duties

- Work with outside CPA during tax season on company returns

- Maintain complete files (both physical and electronically)

- Assist with BuilderTrend and all on-going/active construction projects

Mortgage Loan Processor / REO coordination

- Pull credit reports

- Set-up new client / loan files

- Communicate with clients on items needed for the loan(s)

- Work with appraisers

- Work with attorneys and title personnel

- Coordinate closing(s) and funding

- Record the loan in QuickBooks

- Receive and post loan/interest payments

- Pull property tax/utility records

- Help Prepare construction draws for approval/disburse funds

- Coordinate with construction inspector for draw approval

- Help coordinate foreclosures with foreclosing attorneys

- Assist in formulating tax escrow estimates for new loans

- Help coordinate and track tax appeals for foreclosed properties

- Follow up with borrowers to make sure property taxes have been paid and track all property tax bills for City/County/Governing Municipality for each respective property/loan

Requirements: Excel (Microsoft Office Suite), MUST HAVE QuickBooks Desktop, high math aptitude, familiarity with typical office machines (phone, fax, copier, scanner), accounting background, familiarity with real estate, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with stringent timelines. Paralegal or Real Estate experience is a plus.
