Agricultural Strategic Account Lead - United States - Field We are looking for a Agricultural Strategic Account Lead to join our Agricultural Solutions team services the entire US. The Strategic Account Lead is the face to BASF field staff, to the marketplace and to key National Customers and BASF. The Strategic Account Lead will have responsibility for leading the assigned Account Management team and all resources associated with the specific customer. You will be accountable for the resources within your customer alignment, including managing both direct reports and influencing indirect reports. You can be based anywhere in the US that has easy access to an airport, allowing you to service your Strategic accounts. Managing all commercial aspects, people development & customer engagement targets within your customer organization. Developing an approved 3 Year Business Plan as part of the business planning cycle with assigned distributor(s) and function as part of the Strategic Account Team that sets and implements distribution and marketing strategy. Disseminating BASFs core strategy, distributor goals, and objectives throughout all levels of the Distributor's organization, ensuring all key influencers fully understand and support the strategic direction and goals. Communicating and facilitating sales responsibilities with BASF Corp colleagues, allowing for effective business solutions to be developed representing mutually successful and profitable results. Achieving targets by leading your team in translating and deploying the national marketing strategy/messages into sales execution plans for their local area(s), while acting as an advocate for BASF & the agriculture industry. Establishing and cultivating a culture of high performance that seeks continuous improvement, and which embraces the need for practice & constant communication. Bringing constructive input & feedback regarding processes, needed investments and proactively engaging in cross-business exchanges aimed at speeding the delivery of best practices and deployment of new tactics or ideas. Promoting staff engagement, cultural values and embrace the use of data beyond sales figures as key characteristics of a successful field sales staff. Acting as a key spokesperson for BASF’s internal and external communications with employees, customers and the marketplace. Managing the entire 500 M $ + business relationship between BASF and the customer organization. If you... Have a BS/BA degree. Possess 15+ years of sales and/or marketing experience. Have 5+ years in a role aligning business plans to company strategy. Demonstrate experience leading a team and interpersonal competencies appropriate for motivation and coaching of a competitive, positive, ethical sales team. Have sales and/or marketing experience within the agricultural industry. Possess Strategic/Key Account management experience. Demonstrate understanding of the distribution system, business cycles, and competitive relationships of assigned distribution accounts. Demonstrate business acumen and understanding of the agricultural market, specifically the relationship of the Distributor/Channel partner within the major row-crop and specialty US Crop markets. Have Account Management experience, persuasive selling and demonstrated negotiation skills.
