Position: Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk

Reports to: Senior Accountant

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Job Type: In person, Full-time

Key Responsibilities

As the Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk you will:

  • Support the Club’s Accounting Department and Operations Manager with efficient implementation of data management and timely input of data;
  • Assist with the coordination of clerical duties, including: data entry and daily communication with front desk staff, parents and participants;
  • Assist in Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with the collection of past due balance;
  • Analyze operating practices, record-keeping systems, and forms control requirements to assist in the creation, revision and implementation of changes to systems and procedures as necessary;
  • Resolve administrative problems by coordinating preparation of reports, analyzing data and identifying solutions;
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning administrative projects and expediting work results;
  • Research current trends regarding data management and develop implementation systems and effective evaluative measures/tools;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices in required fields, such as finance, data management, accounting and the not for profit sector.
  • Ability to multitask and efficiently perform administrative duties while managing shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and QuickBooks familiarity.
  • Superior organization and time management skills, with proven ability to prioritize emerging tasks and delegate accordingly.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of postsecondary education in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Related work experience may be substituted for education.
  • At least 2 years demonstrated experience providing administrative support to executive management staff or office management experience. Non-profit experience a plus.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Reference Check (mandatory)
  • Standard First Aid CPR-C an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and online accounting software (QuickBooks).
