Here's what you'll be doing

  • Accounts Receivable (AR):
  • Process customer payments accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collection.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Generate and distribute invoices and account statements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for audit purposes.
  • Accounts Payable (AP):
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices.
  • Ensure timely payment of vendor bills while adhering to dealership policies.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage the approval process for payment requests.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • General Financial Support:
  • Assist with monthly and year-end financial closings.
  • Support internal and external audits with necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure best practices in financial operations.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial filing systems.

You need these qualifications

  • Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., CDK Global, Reynolds & Reynolds) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with standard accounting practices, the automotive industry.
    • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in work.
    • Analytical Thinking: Capable of identifying trends, discrepancies, and providing solutions.
    • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
  • Team Player: Positive attitude, willingness to collaborate, and assist colleagues when necessary.

  • Prior experience in an automotive dealership or related industry.
  • Familiarity with dealership-specific financial processes.
